We have a program for each of the following :

Girl Scout Daisies K-1 grade, Girl Scout Brownies 2-3 grade, Girl Scout Juniors 4-5 grade

Girl Scout Cadettes 6-8 grade, Girl Scout Seniors 9-10 grade and Girl Scout Ambassadors 11-12 grade
Girl Scout Program Options

We will design all activities that allow the girls to earn Girl Scout Junior awards (or award requirements)  e-mail request  

Option A.  A Saturday - 10:00am -2:00pm or 12:00pm -4:00pm
                 Sunday    - 12:00pm - 4:00pm
First part of the program, girls will tour our farm outside the horse area.  A short helmet awareness video will be shown and helmets fitted.  The girls will then  get hands on experience in horsemanship, including handling and  grooming horses and learning about riding equipment.  In addition, girls will learn about different breeds, riding disciplines, feeding and general healthcare through fun activities. For large groups, girls may be placed in groups of 4-5 girls, each group will rotate through the series of activities.  Lunch or snack must be brought and is picnic style as a group. After the break, a brief introductory riding lesson may be included on one of our experienced school horses for an additional $15.00 per girl.  Fun day ends with a craft. Cost for the day - $20.00 per girl. Minimum required is 5 girls, limited to groups of 15.

Option B. 4 scheduled weekly visits of 2 hours each, similar to our current Barn Rats Club program.  Focus is on Horsemanship and Riding skills to achieve badges. Cost $75.00 per girl.  Minimum- 4 girls required, maximum  6.

ASTM Approved helmets are provided and must be worn in horse areas and while mounted on a horse.  Girls choosing to ride must wear a securely fastened sturdy close toed boot or shoe with a one inch heel. Willowgait Farm has short riding boots in sizes ladies 2,3,6,7 and 9 available for use.  NO SANDALS or open toed shoes allowed in the barn by anyone.

There must be two unrelated Scout leaders present  for the duration of the program and visit must be pre approved by Girl Scouts of Colonial Coast .

We pride ourselves on our superior safety record and care of our horses and riders. Parents must sign a Standard Liability Waiver and each girl must bring a signed waiver on the first day.  Girls without a signed waiver are not permitted to ride.

All requests must be e-mailed, full payment for group minimums are due upon arrival at the farm.  No exceptions.
